Be at your Best...!!

In today’s competitive business environment, it is important to always be at your best.

Following are some advice for apt grooming and styling to look gorgeous everyday..!!

Be Prepared: You never know when a job opportunity will present itself – you can run into a potential employer at the gym or on your way to the store. Take good care of your appearance at all times – even if you’re running out for a quick trip to the corner store – because a chance meeting can quickly turn into an informal interview.

Great Grooming: Establish a grooming regimen that is easy and gets your day started on the right foot. It’s not about the amount of time you spend getting ready, but rather, more about making efficient use of your limited time, by using the best products available so you can leave the house looking great and feeling confident.

The Right Color and Fit: Go for simplicity—solid colors like navy, black and grey are perfect for suits, while white or shades of blue are ideal for dress shirts.

Even the most expensive suit can look sloppy if it’s not the right size. Make sure the items in your wardrobe fit flawlessly, even if this means seeking out the help of a tailor.

Effortless Style: Above all else, it’s vital for good style to appear effortless. Trying too hard never translates well. Pay attention to those items that will help you to establish a modern classic look that is all your own: a nice watch or well made shoes or a well-fitted suit.

Keep Essentials Ready: You never know what the end of a long day will call for: a last minute interview or date, perhaps. Be prepared by keeping a drawer of essentials ready: deodorant, fragrance, toothpaste, breath freshener and a spare dress shirt.

Look Good.... Everyday...!!

‘Tom Boy’ was the compliment I often got for my appearance, till around my Post Graduation.  It’s when a marriage proposal for me twinkled; my mother took my sessions for makeover.  She guided me for the simplicity and complexity involved in woman dressing,  what  dress would suit well for which occasion, which colours to avoid, which accessories to wear, how to wear make-up, how to correct a goof-up and the list goes on and on…
It is quite an extensive study to learn how to be just perfect in every situation, WITHOUT MAKING VISIBLE EFFORT..! I am still amazed to observe my mother practice it every day.

Some women like my mother have these in them as intuitions while some like me have to learn it… But believe me... It’s Worth It..!!

When it comes to landing that executive position at work or wooing a potential partner, we always make sure that our grooming is up to scratch beforehand. Research has proven that a pleasant personality has magnified chances of getting selected in both professional as well as personal life. But why can’t we try to be presentable all the time..!!

Personal Grooming is very important part of Personal Branding. To be able to function and fit in today’s society, you must make sure your personal grooming is up to the standard. Opportunities that would surround you for your career growth or social fame are all in extricably linked to how you present yourself to the world. Grooming is simply one of those things that there is no excuse not to take time and effort with. So let’s start with the basics at the Grand Location of JW Marriott, Juhu.

Everyone Can be a Brand..!!

After knowing me for a while and observing my image in minds of people, some apprentice come to me with heavy heart saying, “You can do it, But I Can’t!”
I strongly dismiss their appeal of low self confidence, encouraging them by showing their personal Strengths and a few tricks to flaunt it.

Some of such generalized ideas I would like to share here with all of you.

·         Start thinking of yourself as a brand
What do you wish for people to associate with you when they think of your name? Is there a certain subject matter in which you want to be perceived as an expert or are there general qualities you want linked to your brand? Once you understand how you wish your brand to be perceived, you can start to be much more strategic about your personal brand.
A strong personal brand can yield tremendous ROI whether you are working with an organization or leading one.

·         Audit your online presence
You can’t mold perception without first understanding the current status. In other words, Google yourself and setup alerts for your name on a regular basis. Cultivating a strong personal brand is just as much about being responsive to what is being said as it is about creating intellectual property.

·         Find ways to produce value
We’ve all been there on social media and chatting platforms. Someone in your network posts something utterly mundane or ridiculous, and you wonder what compelled them to do so? A medium is not a substitute for a message. Find ways to add value to your audience by creating or curetting content that’s in line with your brand.

·         Be purposeful in what you share
Every tweet you send, every status update you make, every picture you share, contributes to your personal brand. It is an amalgamation of multiple daily actions. Once you understand how you wish your brand to be perceived, you can start to be much more strategic about your personal brand.

·         Secure a personal website
Having a personal website for yourself is one of the best ways to rank for your name on the search engines. It doesn’t need to be robust. It can be a simple two to three page site with your resume, link to your social platforms, and a brief bio. You can always expand on the website with time.

·         Associate with other strong brands
Your personal brand is strengthened or weakened by your connection to other brands. Find and leverage strong brands which can elevate your own personal brand. Start with the three C’s: company, college, colleagues. Which school did you attend? Are there groups you can join? An alumni newsletter you can contribute to? What hidden opportunities are available within your company which you have yet to tap? Consider submitting a guest post to the company blog or look at other digital assets you can connect to your brand.

·         Reinvent
A strong personal brand is dependent on a strong narrative. In other words, what’s your story? Take a second to think of celebrities you know who have a strong personal brand. They are all have a very clear story and a consistent brand. If you have multiple passions or areas of interest, a narrative becomes even more crucial so there can be unified theme.

Most importantly, remember that a strong personal brand should be ubiquitous and ever evolving.

If you need help defining your story, I highly recommend a Personal Branding workshop.

One of such workshop have had a splendid response last weekend and is now extended to coming weekend may be just for you. (at JW Marriott Hotel, Business Lounge) Register Here

What Makes You Unique, Makes You Successful

I am passionate about personal branding since my childhood, unaware of the specific terminology at the start. My Dad always repeated a sentence “We are Different.” He made me look at myself as ‘leader – who need not follow the crowd, rather crowd follows him’. A dancer by heart, I often dreamt of dancing with celebrities during their performances on stage. A seven year old brain would rebel against Dad’s denial and could not understand his feelings at that time. Now, after 15 years of experience I understand. I completely understand that I do not stand behind the celebrities. Instead, I AM the celebrity.

A simple lesson of life is “World perceives you to be, what You allow them to”

Personal Branding is about identifying and then communicating what makes you unique and relevant and differentiated for your target audience, so that you can reach your career and/or business goals. If you understand your strengths, skills, passions, and values, you can use this information to separate yourself from your competitors and really stand out.

Personal branding is very powerful because it sends a clear, consistent and correct message about who you are and what you have to offer. A strong, authentic personal brand helps you to become known for what you're good at, sets you apart from everyone else, and can position you as a niche expert in that particular area of work.

For example, we often feel that some person is very good in making last minute arrangements while the other has the talent to attract the Crowd. One has quality of expressing while the other might be a good cook. We know each and everyone by some or the other adjective relating to their expertise, visible to us. This way, in our minds, knowingly or unknowingly, we create impressions of others. Same thing would happen when the table turns.

Each of us has a right and capacity to create a brand of ourselves...
which is worthy of a remark..!!

Personal Branding - Why?

Assume that a person was wandering in deserts for two days, searching for water. He encountered two bottles filled with clear liquid. One of them was tagged as ‘Bisleri’ and the other was untagged.

Which bottle would You pick up?

Bisleri. Obviously.

That’s Branding.

A brand is anything – a symbol, design, name, sound, reputation, emotion, employees, tone, and much more – that separates one thing from another. In case of McDonald’s, the golden arches became part of the Brand.

Branding on Business Level is common. But today, branding is becoming just as important on a personal level. After all, it's people working with people and that makes the business relationships valuable.

Why should anyone build a personal Brand?

Building a recognizable personal Brand opens professional opportunities like
·      A better Job
·         Better contacts and Clients for the company
·         Industry Recognition

And on and on.... The video link hereby is extensive enough to clear the concepts for budding readers.

So ,

Start thinking yourself as a brand and flaunt it..!!
